After 5 years of great use, my MX1000 mouse is pretty much dead. Buying another is next to impossible. I love the size and feel of this mouse...any suggestions? Hell? You got me into this mess! :P

In the meantime..

I stumbled across this site that shows how to replace the mouse battery (this mouse is a replacement for the original, which I kept, and whose battery has been charged 10 times!!) and replace the feet here.

I'll still take suggestions...at some point this beastie will die and I'll need a replacement.

I am so gonna hurt you....

Ordering the feet today, will yank the battery out of the old one (I only kept it around to use while the other was charging) and that should give me a year or two extension.

Didn't you buy a G7 Hell? I'm asking 'cos I've read the battery life is about 5 hours (average), though you can swap out batteries and additional batteries are fairly cheap ($25).

Honestly, it's the missing cable that makes it wunderbar. That's it. I've enough cables (keyboard, Nostromo n52)...not having that third is a joy.

I'm hung up on this mouse 'cos it feels damned good...I'm only now starting to experience some Carpal, but that's more to do with too much WoW in several long stretches.

Used to be a Microsoft mouse guy, but this Logitech brought me back to the light :D

Thanks...I appreciate it.

But what are you using now? You're the one that got me into the MX1000...what're you using instead?

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the Revolution.

Hell: How's the G7 compared to the MX1000?

Smaller. Shaped like a regular mouse. I don't think you would like it as much as the 1000.

That was my impression when it came out...bleh. I'll call Logitech and tell them to build a new mouse just for me :D In the meantime, I swapped with my wife's MX1000 (she uses her mouse about an hour each week...she won't notice, at first  'til the pads come in.

Yyyyeaaaaahhh...I saw that, but had a little problem with this:

5 used & new from $99.99

Paying twice as much as I paid for the original? Naw, I'll get over it. Still waiting on those footpads.

Got the feet, cracked open the defective mouse (left-button was bad, otherwise working), yanked the battery, swapped to MX1000 with dying battery, applied Slick Surf feet...joy. Just easy as pie. Works great! Not bad for $5 & 5 minutes of effort! Highly recommend this stuff if you want to keep a mouse around.

There're also sites that'll sell you replacement batteries if you're REALLY hard-on about your mouse. I'm not that gung-ho...just waiting for the Revolution series to croak and a real replacement to show up.

I still use a Razer. on-the-fly adjustments are awesome, and it is just comfortable.

I forget which model, copperhead - blue I think.

I got tired of the Logi I had, I think an MX750 cordless.

Kindofan update, my MX1000 finally bit it, and I had to make a decision. Staples had the MX1100 on sale for $60, and I hadn't found any others (other than the Razer...I forget which model...at Best Buy), I figured I couldn't lose.

WOW! Talk about a step up! The thing I love best, besides the better contour of the mouse, is the 'hidden' mouse on the thumb-rest. Push down, and there's a button. Genius! A perfect Voice button!

Best of all, it runs on standard AAs, and has an OFF button to save said batteries. YAY!

I seriously considering Steelpoint's WoW mouse, just 'cos 11-buttons on a mouse isn't something to sneeze at.

This is the one: http://www.razerzone...ming-mouse.aspx

I liked the buttons on both sides, but, maybe it's my hands, I like the fit of the MX1000-1100...that hump at the top feels better. Then again, I'm spending 10-16 hours per day with this thing, so maybe that makes a difference.

if they ever make a mouse shaped like a penis then the gaming world will explode as millions of 12-16 year olds simultaneously never leave their homes again, and become extremely good at what ever game they are playing over night...
