The G-man (or is it G-Daddy now with the extended family now? :D) can answer this better I'm sure, but once parts/items get to a certain age, their value doesn't go up, but the cost of keeping them (dusty) on shelves forces the seller to crank up the price.

Hell, I've a ZEOS 386sx-16, 20Mb HDD with 128k video, IN THE BOX, with 14" monitor! If what you have is a goldmine, I'm rich! :D
