Looking for a low cost suggestion for a new MB and CPU. Would prefer Intel. Nothing fancy but needs to go fast.

I can't vouch for the board specifically, but I can't recall having any problems with Intel (direct manufacture) boards. Ever. If I have to build anything for a business client, I use either Asus (AMD board) or Intel (uh, Intel). I don't like taking chances.

dunno how fast it'll be

it does support a single PCI-E vid card .. but only x 16 type (older chipset)

and the cpu is ok but still kinda slow ..what are you gonna use it for ?

i mean decent deal .. but i'd opt for a faster cpu ..one with a higher level 2 cache for gameing

and it'll support quad cores as well

if for a work PC... or an home theater setup ..it should be adequate ..remember it's not something your gonna be able to upgrade too much .. as it only has 2 mem slots totall of only 4 gig

but still supports legacy hard drives (IDE) and floppy
if ya see someone in need of help .. help em so ya can frag em later :) Posted Image

try shopping gearxs.com for a board and for cpu try starmicro.com

that board looks fine for a non gaming machine if ya add the right cpu to it and remember it'll only ever handle 4 gb of memory (ya wanna have that at least if you plan on vista .. vista with 2 gig o mem is kinda sucky)

if like i said..if for a work PC or HT PC it'll be fine

heck both my gameing systems still have old socket 478's in em and both are either INTEL or ASUS

but the cpu speed is 2.8 - 3.0+ ghz on both

only dual core i have is in my laptop ..it's an AMD athalon 64 - X2/ 1.8 ghz ..and it sucks for games

plays movies nice ..and is a fast ass booting system .. great for pictures and work .. just sux for games
