Yeah, I bought a "gaming computer". Yeah, I bought a Dell.

It's an XPS 630. I'm satisfied with it so far. It came with XP Pro installed and upgrade media for Vista 32bit. All I had to do was ask and they sent me Vista 64. I went ahead and upgraded. Haven't really had any problems with it, though the resources available at my630i.com were invaluable in getting it set up.

Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz (OC'd to 3.2GHz)
4GB DDR2 SDRAM (850MHz)
2x ATI Radeon HD4850 (in Crossfire)
500GB SATA HD
RealTek 7.1 onboard audio, which has worked surprisingly well

Ran me about $1400 altogether, I think.

I also purchased an Acer H213H 21.5" LCD with 1920x1080 native res. It's only got 5ms response time, but I really haven't noticed that being a deficiency.

You know I could've built that for you since I'm in your town?

Oh well, send Dell Stephen my regards!

After tugging, in tears, at the goat for what seemed to be forever, he finally got it to abandon his plans to be Alpha Goat of the children's section. The goat, probably now feeling slightly emasculated by a crying ten year old, decided to leave tons (tons.) of cute little pellets all over the floor. He must have been part shotgun, as the spread was amazing.

Actually, I moved to East Texas (up around Tyler) about a year and a half ago. I could have built it myself, honestly (and maybe cheaper), but I like knowing that they'll send me new hardware if my existing hardware goes kaput. Plus, there's a community of users with nearly the exact configuration that have already worked out most of the kinks.

Thanks retrospectively for the offer, though.

I guess I could also mention that I've used it for one thing over the last two weeks since I bought it:
