says something is wrong it keeps freezing up and stuttering
well i bring it home ,look at it ..
she has windows VISTA premium
on this NEW HP laptop ..and it came with only 2 -512 meg sticks of ram ?
how the hell do they expect vista to run on less then a gig of ram .. the vid chip is nvidia 7150
and thats useing 256 meg for video ... and yea i checked and there is no way in the bios to lower that .. at least with the original shitty bios leaving only 768 meg to run VISTA premium????????????
why the hell do they sell such shit!
good news is.... i told her just buy a 4 gig corsair mem kit for it .. (37.99 for corsair@newegg)and buy 2 of em .. one i keep for my dell
and one for hers.... i'll install it and she owes me nothing plus i do a full sweep of the system and full reinstall if i find any issiues or problems /up to and including adding better security settings /software
plus go to her house to config a wireless router to work with this system as well as her old Desktop
but i cant believe that HP /DELL and other system builders are STILL not useing /telling people /recommending /the proper amount of ram for VISTA ..
plus she just bought this @christmas time @ walmart for $799
it has the same CPU as my dell i bought over a year ago ...has an athalon X2 tk -55 1.8 ghz
and i only paid @489 for my dell
granted she has a 160 gig hardisk .. mines only a 80 gig ...but damn thats one expensive hardrive !
found out VISTA SUCKED On a gig o ram ..installed a 2 gig kit and went back (well upgraded it ) to windows XP Pro
heck i was playing counterstrike source on it that weekend we all played
