If its just for office work, just go to pricewatch, click on the your choice under the systems heading and pick one under $500.
I am sure any thing there would be fine for office work.
IMHO, if its just for office why bother to build unless you are really, really into building your own, or want to learn the whole process of "building" your own from scratch...
just my two cents worth...

a guy at work just built one with a nForce board, and used all the onboard stuff, with a XP1800 cpu. there is not one add-on card in the machine, and it works great he says. if you want I can get the full list of parts.. but the list will be short LOL

yes nforce, but it will have to be amd based, but with XP1700's going for $50 i'd that would be the way to go for a cheap business machine.
$70 asus

May want to check this one out Meany. http://64.191.23.222...e=deals&id=6081
I just did it because I got to family members looking for new systems without the need of a monitor. I keep rebates and discounts for a quick profit of $300.
If you know someone to sell one to, you'd pick up one for yourself very cheap. It's a P4 too, not a celeron.
LOL Zet! And a Dell, not a "bleh" Gateway.
