I have to agree on the 9500 pro. 199 bucks anywhere u want to buy it isn't bad. I am thinking of an early christmas present for me!

Speaking of...looks like I'm laid off for the week. Oh well, time to work on Kenn Hoekstra's basement.

I've been tempted to throw a 9700 in my new rig but...

What's the issue?

My 9500 Pro is a New Year buy, I think, but $300 Cdn for a card that is fully DX9 compliant and stomps the 4600 with AF on (which I always use) is pretty much irresistable.

Hammer, Check the open forum for my post about my issue.

Bubba, just reformatted yesterday. Same damn thing. I am going to try the new drivers that came out on the 9th this month and see what happens there.

Bout ready to ditch this card though.

Anyone interested?

hmm thats funny as i went from a geforce 3 ti 200 128 meg card (after yes uninstalling the drivers correctly ) to my radeon 85000 and never looked back .. ATI makes good cards ..so does nvidia .. but i'm happy with my ATI purchase

I guess I am happy to some extent, alot of games look way better, but I keep running into games that used to work fine and now either don't work to a point where they are playable or I have to go download something to make them work.

Either way it's annoying as hell and pissing me off.

also just read with the ati 8500 you should turn off smoothvision in UT 2003 if you have missing textures with this new driver set ..

it's in the release notes of the new catalyst drivers .. please see your other post for a link to get the new control panel as well as the new driver set

current version released december 6th is catalyst 2.5

ahh hell here is the link ..get em and try em ..remember to fully remove your ATI control panel first then the old ATI driver set via add remove programs before installing the new drivers

when installing the new drivers .. install the driver first .. reboot (it'll ask ya to ) then install the new control panel

also ignore any of the XP shit that says the driver is not sighned .. .. microshaft will take a few months to add these new drivers
