I am using Phoenix.. vers 0.5.
It's an open source browser, I havent been using Internet Exploder for about 4 months now, I was just using mozilla, but had some troubles with my web mail, Phoenix is working great and its much more easier to end pop ups...

I've been using the freeware pop-up stopper from www.panicware.com for a couple of months now without a problem.

Hint: If you don't want it to supress apop-up window when you click on a link, just hold down the ctrl key when you click, or double click on the icon in the system tray to turn it on and off as needed.

Cool Elim, i am using "Pow" right now and its great but kinda a hassle to add the pop ups manually

i may check it out, and also that phoenix mozilla build of Weapon's, altho i swore i would never use a nescape/mozilla product again

I use Adshield. I prefer it over others as it integrates itself into IE, which is my preferred browser thanks to Jeep :P He just had to show me that damn Yahoo Companion one day, now I cannot live without it. I also love the Google Toolbar.

I have never noted an issue with legit popups myself. We use a program here at the office called Webdemo which uses Java scripted popups. I do have to turn off all Adsheild options when I use that. Also we have a store here called BestBuy (just not sure if you have those over there) and I have to turn off "Block scripted popups" when I view their weekly ad.

i think all popups are scripted as far as i know, so that sounds too heavy handed for my uses, especially at work where all our apps rely heavily on scripted window events.

pow uses the name assigned to the scripted window to remember good from bad, altho you have to manually tell it, yes thats a bad window, the first time you encounter it.

STOPzilla: Popup Killer 1.0.9

this one is cool it does everything for you it puts all the pop ups in the

BLACK LIST. { I have it set to automatically add all detected pop-ups to BLACK LIST }
man you could not ask for anything better i tryed all the other ones ,
this one seems to be the one that i really like.

and the good thing about this it only gives you what you ask for nothing else, no pop ups anymore for me Yahoooo.....

"and I have to turn off "Block scripted popups" when I view their weekly ad."

yeah same sort of deal here too.It also stopped a lot of BBS images appearing such as topic header pictures and smilies. It never did any of those till SP1 tho :/
Might try a reinstall later.

I really didnt like Mozilla all that much, it was slow just like Netscape and it gave me continuouse loops with yahoo mail buttons...
but Phoenix is a stripped down version of mozilla... its really worth the try.
You dont even have to really install it.. just unzip to a folder and click the exe. If you dont like it.. just delete the folder.
It does make a profile, like in W2K if your using that or XP youi will have to delete the phoenix folder within your profile folder.
0.5 is their second release, tabbed browsing... one window.. many tabs inside that.. .woohooo...
as far as java.. it gives you choices of what you want scripting to be able to do...
If you do try it.. the options are under the Tools menu then preferences...
happy browsing...
