well im prolly gonna build a new box.. hehe its been what 5 months scince i built my last 1... other than that i havent really done much box choppin scince my 386...got tired of the bullshit fer a while and got a dell
ewwwwww never again. well i just wanted some input on a couple of things.

board- soyo dragon lite
proc- amd athlon xp 2100+
memory- 768mb p2100
video- ati radeon 9000 pro -or- 9500 pro (both 128 meg) the big question

the board and proc i can snag for 180 fer the pair
the mem i can get fer 45$ a 256 stick
the vid card its 150 fer the 9000 and 219 for the 9500

well bubba or anyone else that wants to gimme a lil input on thois stuff...feel free any suggestions are welcome.... the big q is the vid card .. is the 9500 really worth 70$ more? seeing that the 9000 is very esily ocable and the 9500 isnt blah blah blah..wich one will get me the best performance ..vs cost such n such ...dont forget to tell me if ya think im payin too much..and if i am point me to a cheaper place

i already have an ibm 60 gig hd id be transfering from my old box and i will be running win xp pro 64 bit the board has onboard sound .. i can live with that..

my current box is running the ecs k7s5a mobo amd 1.8ghz 1gig of pc133 sd ram a kyro 3d prophet 64 meg vid card w tv out... so the new config will be a decent jump....when i get it all put together in the next 3-4 days .. ill be asking about ocin the board and proc as im sorta new at that and dont wanna blow anything up..im good at that i also may be turning the old box into a server for ut 2k3 when i get the timew and money wheee money easy time blah i dont have any

EDIT>>>>>> new question the diff between the kt333 and the kt400 chipset is ? just the fsb ..as far as i can tell...
so what i wanted to know is the soyo kt400 dragon platinum ultra worth the extra 60$ over the kt333 dragon lite

dont hink im a moron..im just watcin my back wanna make an informed decision...im not gonna go spen 600$ at the drop of my hat.... thats why i asked bubba so he can drop his hat and let me spend 600$ on a box

i will give my recommendation after i get a chance to weigh all the facts, check the ambient temperature with my wet finger, and sacrifice my requisite offering of finely roasted pbc to the hardware gawd

well my last vid was a Radeon 64mb, its shot.
I was looking at Newegg.com and found the,
ATI 9000 pro 128mb came in two flavors...
one is the Atlas
other is the Saphire
Atlas was $89, Saphire was $98... or something
whats the diff, both seemed the same to me..
I only use the monitor, I dont hook up lcd or tv.. so thats no biggy
just a ??

well i just took a look at the vids you were lookin at.. not the same as the one i was but close they arent manufactured by da same company the specs are different specifically the ram freq... drops from 550/500 depending ont the radeons to 275 maybe even 200 on the atlantis and sapphire.. hence the extra $$ 150 vs 90 but thanx fer the input it took me a minute to figure out why they were cheaper hehe but the info proved invaluable as new egg wil gimme hte card 20$ cheaper than the other place..but they dont have same day shipping garunteed.. outpost.com does 8i hate computer shopping .. it should be cheaper so i can buy everything .. no bugeting bah
