ive got a usb2 question

am i right in understanding that usb2 uses a 9pin connector and usb1.1 uses a 5?

so usb2 and usb1.1 cables are different right?

I believe they are both 9, but cables from one motherboard may not work on another because of the way the pins are orientated.

It's actually 8, but some motherboasrds have two grounds making it 9. You don't really need to attach both ground wires.
